One Nation, Under God
Cary Woodruff, Director of Paleontology at the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum is back for the 2018 season and is pleased to announce the season opening was Tuesday, May 1.
Woodruff, a graduate of Montana State University and now a PhD candidate with Dr. David Evans at the University of Toronto and the Royal Ontario Museum, recently represented GPDM at the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism & Recreation at Big Sky, Mont. Since returning to Malta, he has been diligently preparing for museum visitors and the adult and youth paleo programs.
This is our 10th year in our new facility and we’re planning a huge Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with our annual Wine & Dino set for Friday, June 8 – everyone is invited!” The evening will include food a special-themed beer by Blue Ridge Brewing, wine, live music by Stonebroke String Band from Chinook and the unveiling of a brand new dinosaur specimen. There will be door prizes, silent auction, and a special raffle for a regional bison harvest.
Woodruff also shared the 2018 Adult Paleo dinosaur dig dates in partnership with the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center as June 18th thru June 22nd, July 23rd thru July 27th, and August 20th thru August 24th. The GPDM also offers our unique Junior Paleontology Program (Field and/or components) that provides experiences for children ages 5-to-11 who want to learn more about dinosaurs, paleontology, fossils, and geology. These programs have been extremely popular and bring people from across the US to visit Malta and Phillips County. We don’t have a set schedule for the Junior Paleo. Program and work to coordinate with families and their schedules. Please contact us or visit our website for details. 406.654.5300 or [email protected] http://www.greatplainsdinosaurs.org
