Phillips County hereby invites for congregate and home delivered meal bids for the elderly for July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Meals served must be acceptable to the elderly consumer, meet 1/3 RDA and provide a minimum of 600 calories. Meals will be served on day and times mutually agreed upon by the two parties.
The following meal pattern is required:
Meat or meat alternate – 3 servings
Serving = 1 ounce cooked lean meat, poultry or fish, ½ cup beans, 1 egg
Vegetables and fruit – 3 servings
Vegetable serving = 1 cup leafy greens or ½ cup cooked
Fruit serving = ½ cup or 1 serving
Grains – 2 servings
Milk or dairy equivalent – 1 serving
Coffee or hot tea
The caterer is responsible for following all safety and sanitation regulations as established by the State of Montana under the 2013 Model Food Code for retail establishments, including the 2015 rule update. Caterers must be inspected by the County Sanitarian and the Caterer must have the appropriate business license. The caterer is responsible for paying all costs of food, supplies, labor and other costs as necessary in providing the meals. Meals may be served on site or catered to another location. The location of meals served on site must be accessible to people with disabilities. Bids must be received in the Courthouse by 12:00 noon on Monday, May 14, 2018. Bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018. Special consideration for the home delivered meal bid will be given for the services of a dietician. Phillips County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Knife River-Yellowstone division, PO Box 1498, Billings, MT 59103 has made an agreement with the Malta Irrigation District to acquire water for dust control and compaction in conjunction with a project to improve county roads in Phillips County. Up to 60,000 gallons per day of excess water will be removed from the main canal near Saco. The water will be pumped into water trucks near the canal and hauled to points of use along Turkey Track, East Whitewater and North Forks roads. Water trucks of 10,000 gallons will be utilized with loading rates of 750 gallons per minute. Water usage will begin in late May to early June of 2018 and continue until late August of 2018. The water to be used has been determined by the Malta Irrigation District to be excess and therefore will not impact
any water users.
