4-18. On Tuesday, April 10, Pearl and Clara won the fist game by a 16-3 score before Lois and Francis got a 15-8 victory.
"We set them a lot so they did the same to us," Pearl reports.
On Friday, April 13, Lois and Clara won the first tilt by a 14-9 score before Pearl and Agnes got revenge with a 14-5 win.
"These were two fun-filled games as two kitty cats were helping us," Pearl said.
4-25. On April 17, Lois and Clara beat Pearl and Gloria 13-4, before the teams were reshuffled and the team of Don and Pearl scored a Grand Slam-to-8 win over Lois and Clara. Lois and Clara then took a 16-7 win to the bank.
"We were behind and then wow, came out with flying colors," Pearl said. "They did come back and let us know they still had it, though."
On April 20, Lois and Agnes took the first two games —13-2 and 13-3— before Pearl and Clara won a 13-4 contest. In the last game of the week, Francis and Lois won a 13-10 tilt over Pearl and Clara.
"They got all the good cards," admitted Pearl. "We just couldn't get it going and the cards were in their favor most of the day. You win some, you lose some."
Malta Duplicate Bridge
On April 11, Malcolm Clouse and Lois Goodheart captured first place and Bonnie Millar and Bob Maxie came in second.
On the following Wednesday, Lois and Margo Rush earned first place. Billie Rae Maxie and Bonnie tied with Bob and Les Solberg for second place.
Whist
Last Tuesday, Ken Ruzicka took first place with 54, Leonard Leader was second with 49 and Lu Olson was awarded the traveling prize.
Pinochle
On Thursday, Leonard Leader was first with 6,410, Ron Lundman was second with 5,570 and the traveling prize was shared by Kevin Stevens and Clarence Blunt.
