Dodson teams fall to Scobey

The Dodson Coyotes and Lady Coyotes were given a tall task last Friday, January 19, as both squads faced off against the Scobey Spartans and Lady Spartans respectively in the Coyote Den at Dodson Public Schools.

The Lady Coyotes were defeated 53-28 in their game and the Coyotes fell 69-21 later that night.

The Lady Coyotes were led by freshman Melony Fetter, who scored 16 points, 11 of which came in the first half. Fetter had two treys. Donna Dale had six points, Shontelle Talks Different had three points, Tiffany Cliff had two points, and Kyla Racine had one point.

Offensively, Dodson struggled in the first quarter, with their lone field goal coming from Dale, and a pair of free throws from Fetter. Scobey outscored Dodson 13-4.

The Lady Coyotes' best offensive quarter came in the second period, as the team put up 15 points, 9 of which came from Fetter. Dodson would only score nine more points in the second quarter, while Scobey would score 24 in the same time frame.

The Coyotes would have their lowest offensive output of 2018 against the Spartans, who won 69-21.

Dodson was led by Shaun Ball, who scored seven points. Jeramiah Benson scored four points, Zerek Jones had three points, Corbin LoneBear, Tyrese Messerly and Caleb Ditmar each had two points and Michael Jaynes had one point.
