One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for January 17, 2018

Recently I visited a man from South Malta. Their water was frozen for a week. Sympathy to them.

There were ballgames with Dodson on Saturday. Games were good and attendance was better. There was a silent auction to benefit the senior class and lunch was served. Congratulations to both teams on the games and to the Maverick mascot (so funny!)

There will be an annual meeting and potluck at Whitewater Lutheran Church on January 21, 2018. Everyone is welcome. (Whitewater potlucks are famous!)

At the ballgames, I had the chance to visit with Robin and Warren Robinson. Robin is health director and nurse in Wolf Point and Poplar areas. Her son, Jerad, is a former Whitewater High School grad and now attends MSU in Bozeman. Jerad is also involved in rodeos, roping, etc. Way to go Jared!

We had a “heat wave” in Whitewater with temperatures reaching about 20 above zero. Since it was 30 below on New Year’s Eve, and some reported 40 below, we enjoyed the “heat wave.” But the next day (Jan. 10) we had a blizzard. So much for the heat wave. Think spring!
