Supplies of coal on hand in Malta and other Phillips County towns were low and no more fuel was to be received that winter. Dealers were urging everyone to lay in a supply.

The John F. Hueneke barn in the Black Coulee district was destroyed by fire with 22 head of dairy cattle and 50 tons of hay. The barn, a structure 40x100 feet in size, was valued at $8,000. Hueneke announced he would rebuild.

Harry Cosner had returned from Scotts Bluff, Neb., where he was called by the serious illness of a brother.

Several farmers in the Little Rocky Mountain area...
