One Nation, Under God

Loring News for December 13, 2017

The December 6th news:

Happy December! Just the beginning of the anticipation of the arrival of Jesus!

Carol Lumsden, Ellie Norville, and Dixie Stordahl enjoyed the Festival of Trees at the Phillips County Museum on Thursday. I was very impressed with the beautiful trees and the wreaths and wall hangings! They were well received at the auction! The other items that were door prizes were also beautiful! Sadly, none of our party ended up with anything to bring home! However, Gale Simonson and Eunice Simonson were in the lucky seats and were recipients of a couple of items! The entertainment by Tova Anderson and Eva Yeadon was spectacular!

Kyle and Kelly Wasson, and children traveled to Missoula to see Payton and spend the weekend swimming and enjoying the nice weather.

Kyle Wasson was just notified that he was elected as a Producer Member on the inaugural board of directors of the PNW Canola Association. Congratulations, Kyle!

Brenda Clark had her small business, Clark’s Creations, at the North Pole Express in Saco this past weekend!

Next Sunday on December 10th is the Angel dedication program at the Loring Lutheran Church at 9:00. Orvin Solberg will be giving the messege. Everyone is welcome!

I was lucky enough to participate in the wreath making class at Patty’s Floral on Thursday. It was fun and about eight or so wreaths were made that afternoon.

The North Country Mavericks had their opening basketball games in Glasgow this weekend! By the looks of the scores, there were some very close games! Also, the Mustangs are wrestling already. Luke Lawless and Trey Simanton are the wrestlers from Whitewater. Good luck to our athletes!

As the snow is coming down today, don’t eat any snow that is yellow! Have a great week.

The December 13th news:

Loring has seen temperatures in the 50's this week! It has to be close to a record for December! I don't have any pansies ready to bloom outside, but I have heard a neighbor say that she had one with its cute little face showing! So far this month has been one of extremes! Really hot, really cold, really windy, really calm, really cloudy, really clear. The only thing is it is really dry, but no precipitation at all!

Tom Stordahl's brother, Richard, passed away this week. We are heading down to Billings for a day or so to say farewell.

The Mavericks had a good weekend with Basketball. Wins for both the boys and girls! Also Trey Simanton won the championship for his weight class in Glasgow! Luke Lawless tells me, "I'm working into it!"

LuLu Belle Besel drove Dixie Stordahl to Glasgow for carpel tunnel surgery on Wednesday. I'm getting along a lot better. The happy hands six pack of exercises is helping! Thank you Lu!

Next week Loring Lutheran Church will be at 9:00 with Cindy Clark officiating. The Angel dedication was very nice and many names were read off!

I hope you are getting your shopping finished up! We are putting our platters of goodies together on Saturday and then our Christmas dinner is that evening at the North Forty! The Whitewater Christmas program is on Wednesday, the 13th, at the Gym! Yes, the calendar is getting full!
