One Nation, Under God

Loring News for November 8, 2017

Another one of our Loringites has gone on to eternal life. Marion Matthews died on October 4. Our sympathy extended to the family, Mike, and Murray and their families, and Rene, Kari and Stephanie and their families! She grew up in Loring area in the 30's and 40's. She ranched north of Loring for many years with her husband Vern. She was legendary as a study hall teacher in Malta during the 70's! She passed down lots of trivia and special skills to the younger kids.

I traveled to Havre on Friday and as I went by the ponds by Dodson I spotted some swans! They were resting up getting ready for the long trip south! Seven Swans a swimming! It made my heart happy!

Another thing that has made my heart happy is my white Christmas Cactus which is ready to bloom!

The weather has thrown a little snow at us. The temps are cold, but not below zero! It is interesting to have the four seasons even though our fall season seemed kind of short!

I've already gotten addicted to the Hallmark Christmas movies! I can't believe how fast that happens!

Oh yes, I need to brag about my grandson! Rocco's football team took the championship in the Billings City league for fifth graders! It is quite a commitment for kids and parents, practice four or five nights a week and games every weekend, from September to November! Congrats to the Billings Vikings!

Loring also sends sympathy to Chuck McAdams family on his passing. Chuck and Alice lived in Whitewater for many years where he was the janitor of Whitewater School and then manager of the Farmers Union. It's always hard to say goodbye to those old timers...and I'm getting close!

Loring Church will have services next Sunday at 9 a.m. with Orvin Solberg delivering the message. We will have ELCW at Paula's on Tuesday!

Until next time, check out Kiana Simonson at the National Indian Rodeo in Vegas! She's running the barrels!
