One Nation, Under God
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to stabilize a roadway slide on U.S. Highway 191 near DY Junction in Phillips County. The project is within the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, beginning at reference post 115.4 and extending north 0.2 miles to reference post 115.6.
Proposed work includes stabilizing the roadway and drainage features. The purpose of the project is to stabilize a slide and adjacent roadway to provide a safe roadway for the traveling public.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. New right-of-way and/or utility relocations are anticipated. MDT staff will contact all potentially affected landowners prior to performing survey work on their land. Staff will again contact landowners prior to construction regarding property acquisition and temporary construction permits.
