Dodson News for October 26, 2017

Polly Solberg and Dora Henry were in Havre on Thursday for medical and shopping and while there they visited Betty Munson who is back in her apartment after surgery and rehab. When they returned to Dodson they were greeted by a lot of water in the street and barpit on 2nd Ave West. Mayor Cole was able to get a construction company from Havre to come after not being able to get anyone else, they worked all night under lights to get it fixed. The residents of the west side of town and the school are thankful to them that they could come and have it fixed before morning.

This week Polly went to visit her brother, Bert Windels, who is currently in a nursing home.

Dora's son Bill stopped in on his way back to Havre on Sunday.

On Saturday Dora's granddaughter, Kristi, and two great grandkids, Kieth and Kortni, came from Whitehall to help Dora. On Monday morning they left for Canada, stopping in Williston Monday night to visit grandson, Justin Henry, and the kids enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Going on into Saskatchewan Tuesday morning they visited cousins and toured all the farms and places in the family. They were warmly received and everyone enjoyed the visit. Everyone's getting old so was nice to see everyone one more time.

On Friday night we had really strong winds again and a good rain. The strong winds came again on Sunday with some small showers. Seems like we have a lot of strong winds any more.

Several members of the Dodson Lutheran Church went to the Harlem Lutheran Fall Dinner on Sunday after church. It was a very good dinner and Carol Kienenberger was lucky and won the beautiful quilt in their raffle, made by Ethel Simens.

Birthday greetings are sent to Iris KillEagle and every one else celebrating a birthday this week. Anniversary greetings and congratulations are sent to Wink and Terri Cole and to Don and Connie Wilkes.

Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.
