One Nation, Under God

Saco Lutheran Church hosting Movie Night

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther hammered 95 statements on the door of the Wittenberg Church. This Middle Ages monk saw a need for change in the church, and with the help of technology, he was able to spark discussion on reforming the church. As with any change, it was met with resistance from the established church, but was embraced by many people of Martin Luther’s day. The effects of that change are still with us today, 500 years later.

To commemorate this world-changing event, Saco Lutheran Church is hosting a movie night on October 11 at the church in Saco. During this time together, the one-hour documentary Luther and the Reformation will be shown. The evening will begin with a light meal at 5:30 followed by the movie which will begin around 6:30.

Everyone is invited to attend the viewing of this film. Martin Luther was the impetus of great and remarkable change not only in the church but also in the world. His writings, preaching, and leadership led the Protestant Reformation, and his work is of interest to all Christians not just Lutherans. So come, fellowship, and learn a little about an amazing time and man in our world history.
