Dorothy L. Salveson

MALTA-Dorothy L. Salveson, 85, a homemaker, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, at her home with her family at her side.

Graveside services were Saturday, September 30, at the Malta Cemetery. Memorial Services were Saturday, September 30, at the Malta Assembly of God Church. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Dorothy was born May 24, 1932 in Turner, MT to Monroe and Enid (Johnson) Anderson. She grew up on a farm near Turner, with seven siblings and graduated from Turner High School in 1950. There she met her husband, Sig Salveson, who worked for the Big Flat Electric Cooperative. They were married Sept. 3, 1950 and became wonderful parents to seven children. They moved to Malta in 1959. Dorothy worked many years as a nurse's aide at the nursing home. Sig, her husband of 51 years died in 2002.

Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age. She loved the Lord and she prayed and sang the old hymns until the end. She attended the Assembly of God Church faithfully.

Dorothy's shelves were always full of canned food from their huge garden, the freezer full of home raised chicken, and the house filled with the smell of baking bread. She cooked Sunday dinner for the entire family every week until she was no longer able. Her kids agree that she was the best Mom & Mother-in-law that anybody could want.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Enid (Johnson) Anderson, her husband Sigurd M. Salveson II, sister Cherry Skryja, sisters-in-law Patty Anderson and Arlene An-derson and brother-in-law Richard Skryja.

She is survived by her children Jim (Jeanette), Jerry (Gloria),Gary (Rita), Nancy (Jim) Fauth, Greg (Ruth), Sig (Aimee), Dale (Sherry), all of Malta, Mont. 31 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, siblings William Anderson(Joyce), Malta, Mont., Maxine (Rich) Nevins, Yuma, Ariz., Daniel (Jackie) Anderson, Yuma, Ariz., Marlene (Bart) Travis, Sand Coulee, Mont., Grace (Bob) Kohlman, Ford, Wash., and Kerry (Pauline) Anderson, Yuma, Ariz. Sister's-in law, Marge Sas, Lake Havasu, Ariz., Jane (Ken) Hayworth, Graham, Wash., Carol(Jay) Van Horn, Superior, Wis., Beverly Salveson, Superior, Wis., Brother-in-law Jim Salveson, Graham, Wash .; Also all those who knew her as Grandma Dorothy.
