As of July 10, 2017, Phillips Co is under STAGE ONE FIRE RESTRICTIONS, per the County Commissioners. This means campfires are restricted to designated recreation sites only. Smoking is prohibited outside of vehicles, buildings and developed recreation sites, unless you are in a 3 foot diameter area cleared of all burnable vegetation and materials.
Campfires have also been restricted at Nelson Reservoir.

10:22 p.m. Female reported hitting a deer on Hwy 191 north of the Fred Robinson Bridge; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
10:26 p.m. Female reported the lights left on at the football field; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, were being maintained by a school employee.
September 9, 2017
8:45 a.m. Local Ambulance reported to the football field for the Jr High games.
8:53 a.m. Local business reported a NorthWestern Energy phone scam.
We have been receiving calls and individuals have been coming in to report telephone calls with people asking for personal information, bank account information and needing to send money to relatives.
Calls have been received from:
• Federal Student Loan company
• Block Grants
• Publisher’s Clearing House
• the IRS
• People claiming to be calling for a Magistrate or a Grand Jury regarding a Federal Criminal Offense
• Loan Company
• Life Alert
• People requesting a money order number so they can give you vehicles that they claim you have won
• Calling from NorthWestern Energy
• Calling from a Montana business, such as a florist shop from another town
• Federal Warrant
• Storage Pods, asking to verify your name
• Calling about a Caribbean cruise
• Calling about a prescription that a Doctor had ordered, but the Rx is not real
• Calling about a household member having back/shoulder/hip pain and claiming to be from a medical center
These phone calls are scams, if it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be.
The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone.
Always remember the key things regarding scams:
1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win
2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.
3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

9:28 a.m. Male and several other callers reported a NorthWestern Energy phone scam.
11:48 a.m. Local Ambulance transported an injured football player from the football field to the PC Hospital; ambulance later returned to the football field.
2:44 p.m. Local business requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving an employee who was being harassed; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
3:24 p.m. Male reported a possible fire south of the Regina Road in south Phillips Co; caller immediately reported it wasn’t a fire, was just blowing dust.
4:17 p.m. Female reported a “sketchy online sale”; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, property did belong to the person selling it online.
4:36 p.m. BNSF Police requested PCSO assistance with contacting the conductor of a disabled Amtrak train outside of Saco; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, all passengers were also okay; Amtrak later moved by a freight train engine car and towed to Havre.
7:13 p.m. Deputy performed building checks on buildings in the Malta interior.
8:47 p.m. Female reported a vehicle/deer accident east of Malta on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
September 10, 2017
1:04 a.m. Deputy performed building checks in the Dodson area.
1:12 a.m. Deputy removed a dead deer off of Hwy 2.
2:19 a.m. Female reported juveniles yelling and making lots of noise by MHS; Deputies responded to the call; all found to be okay, just having a birthday party; individuals advised to keep it down.
7:14 a.m. Male requested information on the smoke in the area; caller advised no local fires, just coming in from all the other fires in the state.
3:33 p.m. 911 received requesting assistance on Bear Gulch Rd; call transferred to Ft Belknap LE.
5:45 p.m. Female reported a possible domestic situation that had just occurred; victim was in the reporting party’s vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
7:35 p.m. Male reported a dog had bitten his child; Deputy and ACO responded to the call; case file started.
September 11, 2017
8:33 a.m. Female reported a Hit & Run to a family member’s vehicle; Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.
9:11 a.m. Central Security reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay and no fire.
9:39 a.m. Female requested assistance for fuel; fuel voucher given through the local Ministerial Assistance.
10:31 a.m. Male reported a vehicle “following too close” on Hwy 2, west of Malta; Undersheriff responded to the call; vehicle located and driver advised to stop.
2:03 p.m. Malta City employee reported someone living in the bathrooms at Veteran’s Memorial Park; Deputy responded to the call; individual located and advised to stop or citations would be issued.
4:28 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to the football field for the football games.
8:50 p.m. 911 received reporting a fire off of Route 66; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.
9:23 p.m. Female reported a suspicious vehicle near her residence with no one around; Deputies responded to the call; all found to be okay, just individuals down by the river.
September 12, 2017
7:01 a.m. Male requested assistance with a disabled vehicle on the CMR; information passed onto local rotational wrecker service.
8:56 a.m. Male filed a written complaint regarding a domestic situation; Undersheriff responded to the call; male didn’t want anything done at this time, just wanted it logged.
10:00 a.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving juveniles; Undersheriff handled the call.
1:29 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a harassment situation; Undersheriff handled the call.
2:02 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance for herself; caller was contemplating suicide; Sheriff and Undersheriff responded to the call; female not located due to lack of information and cell phone coverage.
3:39 p.m. Female reported a vehicle parked partially in the street near a residential area; vehicle could possibly get hit by other vehicles driving by; Sheriff responded to the call; owner located and advised to move the vehicle.
7:47 p.m. Female reported vandalism to a building in the Malta area; Deputy responded to the call; vandalism had already been reported and there wasn’t anything new.
8:05 p.m. Central MT Dispatch reported an overdue employee that was possibly in the CMR area; information passed onto Deputies and CMR Officer; male later located and was okay.
9:50 p.m. Female reported a vehicle swerving across both lines, westbound on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; no traffic located between Malta and Dodson.
September 13, 2017
9:05 a.m. Central Security reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay and no fire.
9:07 a.m. First Alarm reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a county school; all found to be okay, just a fire drill.
8:11 p.m. Female requested PCSO assistance with a suicidal message received from a friend; Deputy responded to the call; friend located at a hospital seeking help.
September 14, 2017
12:52 a.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
6:57 p.m. Female reported vehicle debris in the street near a local business; Deputy responded to the call and removed the debris.
7:56 p.m. Female reported hearing 3 small explosions from the Trafton Park area; Deputy responded to the call; no one found to be in the area.
9:16 p.m. Deputy advised individuals to put out a fire in their yard as we’re still under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
September 15, 2017
1:50 a.m. 911 received requesting an individual be removed from a Dodson residence but did not want them arrested; Deputy handled the call.
2:44 a.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 9am to 9pm tonight.
6:33 a.m. Sheriff reported a vehicle parked right next to the Port of Morgan building; all found to be okay, just waiting for the Port to open.
8:53 a.m. Central Security reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay and no fire.
11:42 a.m. PC Clinic requested a welfare check on a local juvenile; Deputy responded to the call; juvenile found to be okay.
1:18 p.m. Local Fire Dept reported to MHS for the Homecoming Parade.
1:22 p.m. Deputy and local MHP Trooper reported to MHS to lead the Homecoming Parade festivities.
1:47 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to MHS for the Homecoming Parade.
2:37 p.m. Local business reported a possible attempted burglary; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
3:22 p.m. Malta School employee requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a juvenile and a parent; Deputy and Child & Family Services employee responded to the call; case file started.
6:00 p.m. Phillips Co Commissioners lifted the Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for Phillips Co.
6:02 p.m. Deputies transported one adult female, Pam Kapp, from PCSO Jail to Valley Co Detention Center.
6:45 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to the football field for the game vs Conrad.
7:05 p.m. Ft Belknap LE requested PCSO assistance with a female “wanting to hurt herself” and was possibly in the Zortman area; Deputy responded to the call; female not located.
7:58 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory is canceled.
9:22 p.m. Deputy reported a light on at a City lift station; information passed onto City employee.
