On Tuesday, August 29, Sherman Doucette scored 46 to take first place while Margaret Leader was nipping at his heels, notching 41 points placing her in second place. The traveling prize on the day was awarded to Nancy Soennichsen.
Pinochle
On Thursday, August 31, Sharon Emond tallied 5,280 which was 80-points better than Lou Olson’s second place 5,200 points, giving earning Sharon the pinochle crown for the day. Sharon also shared the traveling prize with Clarence Jacobson.
Hi-Line Whist
On Saturday, August 19, Curt and Clara edged-out Pearl and Delores by a 13-12 tally.
"We raced to the top and then we slipped and here they came, back to beat us," Pearl reported.
On Friday, September 1, Agnes and Pearl found success twice as they swept the day's action, 13-5 and 14-8, beating Clara and Curt in both games.
"The race was on and away we went, right to the top," Pearl said.
Malta Duplicate Bridge
Monday, August 28, saw Malcolm Clouse and Bob Maxie capture first place. Second was earned by Madelyn Anderson and Margo Rush.
Wednesday winners were Margo and Bonnie Millar. Bob and Les Solberg tied with Donna Olson and Madelyn Anderson for second place.
