Scott Allen Lindgren

Scott Allen Lindgren, 30, of Leeds, ND and formerly of Malta, Mont., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. Funeral Services were held Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Leeds Public School with Pastor Michael Pretzer officiating. Visitation with a Prayer Service was Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Leeds Lutheran Church. A Funeral Service will also be held in Malta, Mont., on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Malta High School at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at the Malta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Scott Lindgren Memorial at First Security Bank, 130 S 1st St E, Malta, MT 59538.

Scott was born on December 31st, 1986 to Terry Lindgren and Lynne Lindgren (Nevrivy) in Havre, Mont. He graduated from Malta High School in 2005 and from Minot State University in 2010 and most recently from The University of North Dakota with his Masters of Administration. Scott started his teaching career in Leeds, ND, in the fall of 2010 as a Physical Educator and also took on the role as athletic director, as well as coaching football, basketball, and golf. Scott met the love of his life, Natalie, in December of 2010 at a basketball tournament, and started dating in January of 2011. Scott proposed on May 26th 2013 and they were married on June 28th, 2014. Scott and Natalie welcomed a beautiful little girl, Everly, on November 26, 2016 and she was his pride and joy.

Scott always had a passion for athletics and a strong desire to carry on the family tradition of coaching. At the age of four, Scott could often be spotted riding his bike with training wheels while carrying his dad's old coaching briefcase looking for the next star athlete. Many of Scott's younger years were spent on the family farm irrigating corn and feeding cows with his dad, grandfather, and his great uncle Adolph.

Scott had a passion for many sports teams including the Cleveland Indians, Denver Broncos, Washington State Cougars, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Kansas Jayhawks. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! Scott never hesitated to help anyone that needed it, and would go above and beyond to ensure someone's happiness including his little buddy, Thome, the dog. Scott was always quick with a joke and had an infectious smile that was contagious to all around. This was especially true to all those that had the pleasure to work alongside of him during his time at Pepsi and the Dakota Boys Ranch in Minot, and all throughout his teaching and coaching career.

Scott was a member of the Leeds park board and The North Dakota High School Coaches Association, he was also very active in Leeds Education Association and the Leeds Lutheran Church, just to name a few.

Scott is survived by his wife Natalie and daughter Everly, Mother Lynne (Jim) Nevrivy, father Terry (Pam) Lindgren, sister Jacy (Shane) Stolem, niece Chayana, nephews Hunter and Trace, all of Malta, Mont., and sister Nikki Lindgren of Minot, ND, maternal grandfather Rodney Enos of Spokane, Wash., and paternal grandmother Jane Lindgren of Joliet, Mont., Natalie's parents Wade and Renae Anderson of Harvey, ND, her brother Nolan Anderson of Indiana, and three step sisters and a step brother.

Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Beverly Enos and paternal grandfather Earl Lindgren, and Natalie's aunt Sue Gunderson.
