Loring News for August 30, 2017

Even though the solar eclipse was less than stellar due to the cloud cover, we were able to get several glimpses over the lunch hour.

Sports have kicked in now with the first volleyball invitational tournament in Malta this last weekend, And the blue and white scrimmage on Friday evening. Many of the area people drove to Billings/Huntley for the Cox-Ferguson wedding! Blessings to the happy couple!

I'm so happy because the little hummingbird who stops by for sustenance as he makes his way south is back again this fall!

DollyAnn Willcutt and Dixie Stordahl enjoyed dinner out on Monday evening as a celebration of another successful season at the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum!

The Loring Post Offce has a new parking lot! It is slanted out to the highway so no water will freeze on it! Much safer! Thank you Ray Harms and Johannesens!

Happy birthday to Sally Austin! She had a big party at the North 40 in Whitewater on Sunday! Hope you have many more, Sally!

The skyline is definitely changing on the North Bench! The elevator that stood so tall all my life is coming down piece by piece. It hasn't been used for many years and it was time to take it down before an accident happened! It will leave an empty spot for a while, but soon the sunflowers will make us forget about it. Many memories from the past!

Get well to Connie Wisher! She has had a bout of meningitis and is recouping in the Billings hospital.

Art and Lynn (Gullickson)Verkler of Graham, WA paid a visit to the John Flansaas family this past week. They came to help celebrate the 80th birthday of Lynn’s sister, Anita (Gullickson) Alexander of Glasgow. Lynn and Anita are former Loring residents. Pete and Carol Lumsden and Jerry and Gloria Salveson and extended families all met for a picnic in Trafton Park to celebrate Anita’s 80th, Art’s 80th and Colter Salveson’s 18th birthdays. Matt and Carmen Norville, Jonnae and Jim Slade, Whitney and Jay Blunt, Jade and Kyle Salveson and their 10 children and Charles and Sharon Kienenberger joined in the celebration
