One Nation, Under God
School started again on Wednesday in Dodson. Good to see buses and kids around again. The cross country kids have been seen out and running, getting back into shape.
Selma Miller's family who came from Burnsville, Minn., were Bruce and Jenni Brown, and Aaron, Brennan and Leah and Merrilynn Miller and Esther Miller from Folson, Calif. Some of them have been staying with Edward and Polly Solberg and Polly has been helping them get around to visit and also giving them her car to see others.
Bonnie Lankford was among those attending Byron Ereaux's funeral. The community extends condolences to Lynette and the extended Ereaux family. Byron had many relatives in the community and was well known by many.
I hope everyone was able to watch the "once in a lifetime" eclipse on Monday, either in person or on the TV to be safer on the eyes. We got a little "grey" like overcast but not completely dark like in other places in the sun's direct path.
Some of the fires are still burning across the state and in the west and farther south they still have a lot of the smoke. Talking with some of the people in the other parts of the state it is causing a lot of problems with people with breathing difficulties and older people.
For the first time in several years I found (or they found me!) a couple of little garter snakes in my garden. We used to have quite a few of them all the time and I was thankful it was only harmless water snakes, they were a surprise though when they suddenly wiggled away in front of me.
On your way up the ladder to success watch out for the person behind you.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy the nice fall weather.
