One Nation, Under God
On Tuesday afternoon Dodson residents found themselves facing a dire situation — no water, due to some malfunction with the system. So dry, so hot, and the fair to start and no water. Phones were ringing trying to find out the problem and some people were quite concerned —some with no patience. A malfunction in an electrical box most likely caused by the extreme heat is believed to be the culprit. By Saturday and Sunday, temperatures were down so it made it more enjoyable for the fair goers.
But Tuesday night there was a storm! It was accompanied by strong winds and blessed RAIN. It was so nice to look out and see puddles of water and mud! Almost had forgotten what it looked like. Helped bring the temperatures down too.
Thanks again to the county crew for bulldozing the dumps in the pit — people had been very careless again and had a bad mess scattered around.
Large crowds enjoyed the free breakfasts for the three mornings put on by The First State Bank, First Security Bank and Independence Bank.
Prices on the 4-H sale animals were good and the kids received a good return on their projects.
Condolences are sent to the extended family of Bonnie Jones who was a former resident of Dodson and went to school here.
Polly Solberg went to Harlem and met her nephew Joe and Barbara Scheafer from North Carolina for a visit. Polly was in Lewistown on Saturday. She was busy running errands and entering projects, etc for people earlier — the busy little elf.
Birthday greetings to all having birthdays this week.
With jeans there's no problem finding the right pair — one size hurts all.
Have a wonderful week — enjoy the change in the weather. Hope you all enjoyed the fair — remember school starts in a couple weeks, fall is almost among us.
