Joy Linn, of Saco, Montana, recently graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in May 2017. She graduated from Idaho State University (ISU), a Carnegie-c classified doctoral research and teaching institution founded in 1901. The ISU faculty and students are leading the way in cutting-edge research and innovative solutions in the areas of energy, health professions, nuclear research, teaching. humanities, engineering, performing and visual arts, technology, biological sciences, pharmacy, and business. This degree is achieved in three years of full-time education.
The primary objective of the DNP Degree program is to prepare clinical leaders who effectively evaluate clinical outcomes, identify and manage health care needs of individuals, families, and populations, use technology and information to transform health care systems and participate in inter-professional collaboration to develop efficient and effective models of health care delivery.
Joy also completed her certification in July 2017 as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
The FNP is prepared to be a leader in primary care combining the roles of provider, mentor, educator, and administrator. The FNP is prepared to practice autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide evidence-based care to individuals, families, and populations, across the lifespan in a variety of settings.
Joy has been employed at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH) for 17 years. Joy is currently the nurse manager of the Emergency Room at FMDH. Joy obtained her Associate and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from MSU-Northern in Havre. She is also a Certified Emergency Nurse and a Board Certified Medical/Surgical Nurse. Joy has been active with the Phillips County Ambulance and Hinsdale Ambulance for over 20 years as well as many other local groups and activities. Joy also lives and works on her family owned ranch north of Saco. This ranch has been in the same family for over 120 years
