Please be advised the Phillips Co Sheriff’s Office is no longer doing GVW Term or Trip permits. These are the yearly and 3-day permits for the over-width/height/weight that most semi trucks and trailers need. You can access these permits by going to http://www.mdt.mt.gov, then go to Doing Business-Commercial Motor Carriers-Permitting. Or you can call 406-444-7262, with questions.

July 10, 2017

1:27 p.m. Strong Thunderstorm Advisory for Southwest Phillips Co; 30mph gusts are possible.

1:39 p.m. Female reported two missing dogs; dogs located and returned to the owner.

2:35 p.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 11pm.

3:00 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult male, Michael Torrez, from PCSO back to Valley Co Detention Center; custody turned over to Dept of Corrections.

3:11 p.m. Female reported a missing vehicle and a missing client from Hi-Line Retirement Center; Undersheriff responded to the call; client and vehicle later located and all was okay.

3:52 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southeastern Phillips until 415pm; 50mph gusts are possible.

4:07 p.m. Female, and several other calls, received reporting a grass fire, off of the Sun Prairie Road, south of Malta; local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

4:13 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Phillips Co until 445pm; 60mph gusts and penny sized hail are possible.

4:21 p.m. Male reported suspicious activity around his vehicle parked on a residential street; Undersheriff handled the call.

4:28 p.m. LifeLine reported an unresponsive unknown medical alert sounding at a residence; residence found to be on the reservation; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.

4:29 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southeast Phillips until 530pm; 50-55mph gusts are possible.

4:43 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Phillips until 530pm; 70mph gusts are possible.

4:48 p.m. Female reported a vehicle parked in the middle of Short Oil Road and may cause an accident; Undersheriff responded to the call; owners located and advised to remove the vehicle as soon as possible.

5:09 p.m. Male reported a possible fire in the UL Bend area or possibly across the Missouri River; information passed onto BLM Fire Dispatch; fire found to not be in Phillips Co.

5:26 p.m. Male reported a possible fire in the trees, west of the canal bridge construction zone, on Old Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; no fire located, just residual smoke blown in from the fire south of Malta and the July Fire.

5:55 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance for a possible situation near her apartment; Deputy handled the call.

7:18 p.m. Reserve Deputies reported to the July Fire location for security.

7:23 p.m. Deputy advised he spoke to a juvenile riding a mini motorcycle on residential streets; juvenile told to stay off the streets and only ride on sidewalks.

8:40 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with removing a “squatter” from a local residence; Deputies responded to the call; male left the location without further incident.

8:44 p.m. Red Flag Warning is canceled.

July 11, 2017

2:56 a.m. Significant Weather Advisory for northeastern Phillips Co until 345am; half inch hail and 40mph gusts are possible.

3:40 a.m. 911 received reporting a possible fire east of Malta; local Fire Dept responded to the call; caller later reported the glow was gone; FD canceled.

3:43 a.m. Significant Weather Advisory for northeastern Phillips until 445am; half inch hail and 40mph gusts are possible.

5:09 a.m. Male reported a small hay bale fire north of Malta; local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

6:14 a.m. Female reported large holes in the construction area downtown due to the recent rainfall received; information passed onto City employee.

9:11 a.m. Male reported missing livestock.

9:21 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

10:04 a.m. Male given a fuel voucher through Ministerial Assistance.

10:46 a.m. Female reported an abandoned vehicle parked in front of her business for an extended amount of time; owner located and advised to move the vehicle.

12:25 p.m. Male reported a grass fire south of Malta off of the Content Road; local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

1:58 p.m. Central Security reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay, just a false alarm.

3:17 p.m. Male reported an erratic and speeding vehicle, westbound, on Hwy 2 from the Sleeping Buffalo area; vehicle almost caused two other vehicles to go into the ditch; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded to the call; vehicle located, stopped and citations issued.

3:34 p.m. 911 received reporting a possible grass fire off of the Midale Rd, south of Malta; local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire found to be across the Missouri River in Garfield Co; FD canceled and returned to the Firehall.

4:32 p.m. Phillips Co Commissioners issued STAGE 1 FIRE RESTRICTIONS for all of Phillips Co.

4:47 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for northeastern Phillips Co until 530p; frequent cloud to ground lightning, half inch hail and 40mph gusts are possible.

5:03 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Phillips Co until 6pm; 70mph gusts are possible.

5:26 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for east central Phillips Co until 630pm; 50mph gusts are possible.

5:32 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southwestern Phillips Co until 615pm; 40mph gusts are possible.

5:58 p.m. BNSF Police reported a minor train derailment east of Bowdoin; no injuries or hazardous material, all 5 cars still upright; no law enforcement assistance needed at this time; information passed onto Sheriff, Undersheriff and Deputies.

6:22 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Phillips Co until 715pm; 60mph winds are possible.

6:58 p.m. Deputy reported a disabled camper on a gravel road east of Malta; no one was around the area.

7:00 p.m. Reserve Deputy reported to the July Fire location to serve as security.

8:58 p.m. Female filed a written complaint about vehicles, trailers and farm equipment parked on the sidewalks and into the street by a local business; Deputy responded to the call; business owner advised vehicles needed to be moved.

July 12, 2017

2:23 a.m. Deputy gave a verbal warning to a local tavern for being open after closing hours.

6:23 a.m. Female filed a verbal complaint about workers “parking wherever they want to”; information passed onto Deputies.

2:00 p.m. Female reported a suspicious male looking into vehicles behind local businesses; Undersheriff responded to the call; male located and was okay, just looking in his own vehicle.

7:04 p.m. Deputy and Reserve Deputy reported to the July Fire location to serve as security.

8:15 p.m. Female reported a scam.

July 13, 2017

7:50 a.m. Zortman Fire Dept reported they had been released from the July Fire scene.

9:42 a.m. Female reported a train blocking a crossing for an extended amount of time east of Malta; train started to move while on the phone with PCSO Dispatch.

11:21 a.m. 911 received reporting a suspicious device on a porch at a local residence; Deputy responded to the location; “device” appeared to be an old road flare and was removed by the Deputy.

11:35 a.m. Female reported a semi truck, trailer and pup driving erratically on Hwy 2, west bound from Dodson; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.

2:18 p.m. 911 received reporting a grass fire near 7 Mile and Hwy 191 south; Zortman Fire Dept and BLM Ranger responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

2:20 p.m. Fire Weather Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through the evening for north central Montana.

2:41 p.m. BLM Ranger reported to the fire along Hwy 191 south to assist with traffic control while a helicopter was dumping water on the fire.

3:05 p.m. Heat Advisory in effect from noon to 6pm Friday.

3:15 p.m. 911 received reporting another grass fire on Hwy 191 south, a few miles north of the previously reported one; information passed onto BLM Ranger and fire resources sent to check it out; fire was unfounded.

3:41 p.m. Local business reported damage to their building; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

4:52 p.m. 911s received reporting a one vehicle accident on the Milk River Bridge; unknown injuries to the driver; Deputies, local MHP Trooper, EMT Crew and Fire Dept responded to the call; MHP handled the crash.

6:06 p.m. Female reported a suspicious vehicle in Trafton Park; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle left the location on their own accord.

6:23 p.m. Female requested a welfare check on a dog left in an outside cage; Deputy responded to the call; dog found to be okay, in a shaded area and had water.

6:56 p.m. Deputy and Reserve Deputy reported to the July Fire location to serve as security.

8:14 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

10:42 p.m. Deputy reported damage to a stop sign at Nelson Reservoir.

July 14, 2017

1:27 a.m. Deputy performed security checks on businesses around the Malta area.

2:03 a.m. Deputy reported juveniles on skateboards in the downtown area; all found to be okay, just getting something to drink out of the pop machine.

3:04 a.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect from noon to 6pm today.

3:31 a.m. Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through the evening.

9:54 a.m. Female requested law enforcement with an on-going situation involving a male who would not vacate a building so the new renters could take over; Deputy handled the call.

11:17 a.m. Male reported two stray dogs at his residence; information passed onto ACO.

2:21 p.m. Female reported theft of property from a vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

2:41 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10am-10pm Saturday Heat Advisory remains in effect until 6pm; Heat Advisory in effect from noon to 8pm Saturday; Heat Advisory in effect from 11am-8pm Sunday; for all of Phillips Co.

2:47 p.m. Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 9pm Saturday.

5:34 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10am-10pm Saturday Heat Advisory now in effect until 9pm; Heat Advisory in effect from noon to 8pm Saturday; Heat Advisory in ef-fect from 11am-8pm Sunday; for all of Phillips Co.

6:38 p.m. Local Ambulance was released from the July Fire scene and returned back to Malta.

6:54 p.m. Reserve Deputy reported to the July Fire scene for security.

8:20 p.m. Male requested assistance getting an individual removed from the PC Fair-grounds; Deputy responded to the call; male removed from the location and given a one night stay through Ministerial Association.

8:46 p.m. Heat Advisory is cancelled for today; Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10am-10pm Saturday; Heat Advisory remains in effect from noon-8pm Saturday and noon-9pm Sunday.

9:25 p.m. Deputies performed security checks in the Landusky area.

10:27 p.m. Female reported seeing an individual with a known warrant walking around a local apartment complex; Deputies responded to the call; male not located.

11:25 p.m. Deputy received a report by an individual claiming he was assaulted; case file started.

11:28 p.m. Deputy transported one adult male, Journey Wienke, to PCSO to be incarcer-ated on Disorderly Conduct charges; male later released with citation.

July 15, 2017

3:15 a.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10am-10pm today; Heat Advisory now in ef-fect from noon to 9pm today.

3:37 a.m. Red Flag Warning now in effect from noon-9pm today.

9:07 a.m. American Legion member reported there would be a military funeral today and shots would be fired.

11:32 a.m. 911 received reporting a fire just off of the railroad tracks, east of Malta; caller advised they had it under control and contained.

11:47 a.m. Female reported a power outage north of Wagner; information passed onto Big Flat Electric; caller advised NorthWestern Energy has the substation shut off for the time being.

2:25 p.m. 911 received reporting a bale fire north of Saco; Saco Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and monitored.

6:28 p.m. Female reported a road hazard on 1st Ave E in the downtown area; Deputy re-sponded to the location and moved cones around to the hazard.

7:16 p.m. Big Flat Electric reported they were responding to an outage north of Saco.

7:59 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southwestern and southeastern Phillips Co un-til 9pm; wind gusts up to 50mph are possible.

8:36 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance at a local residence for an unknown issue; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.

8:51 p.m. Deputy transported one adult male, Kori Bridle, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Disorderly Conduct charges.

8:57 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southwestern Phillips Co until 10pm; frequent cloud to ground lightning and 50mph gusts are possible.

9:21 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with being harassed by her neighbors; Deputy responded to the call; individuals advised to leave the female alone.

9:55 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory is canceled; Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9pm Sun-day.

9:57 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for northeastern Phillips Co until 11pm; 50-55 mph gusts are possible.

10:16 p.m. Female reported a vehicle parked in the middle of the street by an apartment complex; Deputy responded to the call; male removed the vehicle from the location.

10:54 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for northeastern Phillips Co until midnight; 50-55 mph gusts are possible.

10:58 p.m. Deputy moved a sign that was blocking traffic on a residential roadway.

July 16, 2017

3:16 a.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9pm tonight.

3:35 a.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect from 9am-9pm.

9:07 a.m. Female reported an injured deer on Hwy 2, near local businesses; Deputy re-sponded to the call and humanely euthanized the deer.

10:04 a.m. Deputy released one adult male, Kori Bridle, from PCSO Jail on bond.

10:12 a.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 9pm.

11:17 a.m. Female reported a Hit & Run to a vehicle on a residential street; vehicle was not drivable; Deputy responded to the call; white form issued.

2:24 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southwestern Phillips Co until 315pm; frequent cloud to ground lightning, dime sized hail and 50-55mph gusts are possible.

2:52 p.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9pm

3:10 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southeastern Phillips Co until 415pm; frequent cloud to ground lightning, nickel sized hail and 50-55mph gusts are possible.

4:39 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for southeastern Phillips Co until 530pm; nickel sized hail and 40mph gusts are possible.

5:03 p.m. Male reported a scam.
