One Nation, Under God

Loring News for August 2, 2017

The temperatures are the main subject around this area! On Sunday, it reached 107 degrees, too hot for this ice cube! The Sunday Fun Day at Loring was a huge success! The water slides were very popular with both the toddlers and older kids. And eventually, when the parents and grandparents were significantly cooked, they joined in the water fun also! What a day!

The North Country Garage sponsored the water slides, a big one and a toddler size. Thank you, Kenny Clark! The meal was pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, chips, and watermelon! In the fire hall, Cindy Clark was serving up ice cream cones and root beer floats! Someone provided many water balloons, a wading pool, and a special tub of water jellies with tons of plastic animals.

Brenda Clark made sure the people who wanted to play Norwegian horseshoes were in the tournament. I noticed four "courts.” Bri Anderson and Jake Coleman were the big winners! Thank you to Brenda, Kenny and Cindy Clark and Kyle Wasson for the great party!

On a sad note, I got notice that Bette Dyrdahl passed away in Helena this past week. She will have a memorial service in Malta on Friday, September 1. She lived in the north Loring area all her life! Thoughts and prayers to her family!

Praying for no fires to start up in our area. It is just so dry and as I mentioned, way too hot! Good luck at the Phillips County Fair everyone!

Loring Lutheran Church will have services on August 6 at 9:30 a.m. Stay cool and hydrated, friends!
