Twenty kids at 2017 Camp Walleyes held at Nelson

Though plans to hold the Malta Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited Camp Walleyes was thwarted earlier this summer, the club held their annual camp on Saturday, July 8 at Nelson Reservoir.

“Our original plan was a little ambitious,” said John Demarais, president of the Malta Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited. “We had the people to do it but the weather killed us.”

The camp was scheduled to take off for Fork Peck last June in hopes of switching things up and giving young local anglers a new body of water to experience. Wind and the threat of rain ended that dream.
