LOCASH headlines concert at this year's County Fair

LOCASH rolls into the Phillips County Fair to headline the Friday night concert on August 4 fresh on the heels of nominations at both the ACM and CMT Award Shows a year after being named Country Aircheck's No. 1 New Artist for 2016.

"What an honor to be nominated this year by the ACMs and CMT Awards," LOCASH's Chris Lucas told the PCN. "We've been doing this awhile, so it's so humbling to be recognized by our peers and the fans."

Lucas, a Maryland native, is one half of LOCASH and Indiana's Preston Brust is the other. Their smash No. 1 hit I Know Somebody topped Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck after their RIAA Gold-Certified I Love This Lifesingle ascended to the top of the charts. Both hits are included on their new album THE FIGHTERS, their first full-length project with Reviver Records. The non-stop duo recently celebrated nominations as ACM Awards 'New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year' and CMT 'Duo Video of the Year' nominees! Their North American tour continues as they promote their third Top 30 single "Ring On Every Finger."

"We're not like any other duo or act out there," Lucas said. "We're entertainers, not just singers. Preston and I are songwriters at heart, but our passion is playing for the people and giving them an unforgettable show."

Formerly "The LoCash Cowboys", the duo have made a presence at radio with such records as the feel-good anthem of Here Comes Summer, and the tender emotions of Keep In Mind, and Best Seat In The House. With a new name, LOCASH, there is an underlying current of new and exciting energy, but the music is the same style their fans have come to know.

"We're going to have some fun with the crowd at the Phillips County Fair and make them feel like family!" Lucas said. "A LOCASH show is all about high energy! They'll hear our hits along with some mash-ups and a few surprises! We're all going to have a blast."

Lucas said that the Phillips County Fair won't be the first time that LOCASH has been to Montana, said he is confident it won't be the last time and added as much as he enjoys playing music for Montana Country Music fans, he hopes to someday come here to recreate.

"We just love Big Sky Country!," he said. "It's really God's country - so beautiful and so much to do - whether it's hunting, hiking or camping. We have the luxury to see so many states as artists and when we're rolling through Montana we just take it all in. We don't get a lot of down time when we're touring, but I'd love to go on a big game hunt sometime out there."

Their latest single, "I Know Somebody" recently topped the charts and Lucas said he and Brust couldn't be happier about the accomplishment.

"It was a dream come true thanks to our fans and country radio," he said. "We're so thankful for that song and to the writers: Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman and Jeremy Stover. We can't wait to perform it for y'all at the Phillips County Fair!"

The gates at the event open at 6 p.m. and Grandstand Pass and Concert tickets are on sale at all the banks in Malta and at the Fair's website at phillipscountyfair.com and Lucas asked anyone not familiar with LOCASH to visit LOCASHmusic.com.
