Malta headed to Roundup for last regular season meet
The Malta Swim Team only had swimmers attend the Glendive Invitational Swim Meet. The low numbers coupled with no relay teams was the deciding factor in the team not placing.
Shay Garfield and Jillian O'Brien were the top point earners for Malta Swim Team with 28 points each. Both girls also got their personal best times in the backstroke; Shay in the prelims and Jill in the finals. It was Lauren Tuss, however, who made an impressive cut in her times with each event.
Denvyr Tuss' 50 fly was the last race, so Garfield challenged her to get under a minute, as she had never done so before. She nailed it, taking 6.84 seconds off her best time, swimming it in 58.19 seconds.
It was an awesome swimming weekend for Lauren and Denvyr.
The swim team will be headed to Roundup for their last meet of the regular season.
Divisionals will be held the following week in Sidney on July 29 -30 and the following week the State Swim Meet will be in Lewistown on August 5-6.
