One Nation, Under God

Timothy Michael Young

Timothy Michael Young passed away on May 14, 2017 of natural causes while camping at Zortman, Mont. He was born on June 13, 1983 in Albuquerque, N.M., to Terry E. Young and Debra Stenswick Young. He was a graduate of the Glasgow High School class of 2002.

Tim was perhaps best known for his sense of humor, hilarious phrases and ability to make anyone in the world laugh until tears filled their eyes. He lit up a room when he entered with his infectious laugh and booming personality.

Tim was an avid collector of firearms, and always enjoyed target shooting and hunting for coyotes, gophers, whitetail deer and maybe even a chick now and then. He was always ready for a back-road drive and an adventure of any kind. He could be seen playing cards at the Elks, patrolling for the catfish tournament, running a table in a branding corral, swathing and baling hay, hauling cows, fixing pickups and bikes - all while cracking jokes and leaving everyone with a smile. He was always on the go, lending a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.

His career path started by delivering The Glasgow Courier around downtown businesses with a little help from his dad. He discovered his love for farming and ranching when he worked for the Cornwell ranch. This led him to dabble in the cow business while working with Jon Engstrom and periodically lending a helping hand to Macy Klind, John Kalinski and many others. He always had an interest in taking things apart and putting them back together, so going to work for Rock Degele tinkering on engines seemed to fit. It was there he was introduced to the fast lane of stock car racing. He also worked for Tire-Rama, Nemont Beverage and Newton Motors. Anyone who knew Timmy, knew he had a gift for wheeling and dealing, and it was no surprise that he went to work for Food Services of America, as he could sell anything.

Tim was an active member of the community, serving as Esquire of the Elks Lodge 1922, volunteering at the Montana Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament, Rodeo Association, Derby Races, and any other fundraiser or community event happening around town.

Tim was preceded in death by his sister Terri Anne, uncle Robert Stenswick and aunt Mona Stenswick.

He is survived by his loving parents, Terry and Debbie, twin brother Todd (Emily), brothers Travis (Hollie), Trent (Tara), niece Kamry Ann, nephews Julian and Trystan, Uncle Jack Stenswick, Auntie Mary and Uncle Mitch Hughes, cousins Karissa (Dominick) Keenan, and Dylan Hughes. He is also survived by numerous cousins, his new faithful traveling companion Trigger and many, many special friends. We hope they enjoy him in heaven as much as we have all loved and enjoyed him here on earth. He will be missed.
