Fort Peck Summer Theatre preps for electrifying 2017 season

Fort Peck Summer Theatre (FPST) is eager to mount 5 exciting shows for the 2017 season, as well as host the Annual Performing Arts Camp, DAM Cabaret and Theatre for a Young Audience series.

Artistic Director Andy Meyers returns to FPST for his 7th summer. In the off-season he continues to work as a frequent guest director/actor at Arizona Broadway Theatre. 2017 boasts an exciting mix of returning audience favorites, new actors from across the country making their FPST debuts and local cast members.

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE

June 2 – June 18

Director: Heather Adams

One of America's most popular dark comedies returns to the Fort Peck stage: Arsenic and Old Lace. Laughs ensue, as a pair of lovable, spinster sisters 'assist' lonely elderly gentlemen by serving homemade elderberry wine laced with arsenic. The dynamic cast is stacked full of audience favorites, led by Pam L. Veis.

OLIVER

June 23 – July 9

Director: Andy Meyers

Oliver is the timeless classic featuring some of musical theatre's most beloved songs. Follow the optimistic journey of young Oliver Twist and all the iconic and exciting characters he meets along the way. Don't miss this production based on the Charles Dickens masterpiece, perfect for the entire family and starring a host of local children. Oliver is produced with special support from a collaboration with Arizona Broadway Theatre.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

July 14 – July 30

Director: Joel Shura

On December 4, 1956, four of the biggest names in music gathered for a once in a lifetime music session. That amazing evening is recreated in the world wide phenomenon: Million Dollar Quartet. Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins come to life onstage and raise the roof in this electrifying theatrical performance.

GREASE

August 4 – August 20

Director: Megan Wiltshire

A rousing, high energy cast and live band will explode onto stage in this dance filled, Rock-n-Roll spectacle. Return to Rydell High with all your favorite Pink Ladies and T-Birds, including Sandy, Danny Zuko and Rizzo. The whole gang is revving up to celebrate Grease and double-dog-dare you not to be tempted to sing along or dance in the aisles.

SOUVENIR

August 25 – September 4

Director: Andy Meyers

Souvenir is the inspiring story of Florence Foster Jenkins, (the ‘world’s worst singer’) and her dedicated accompanist Cosme McMoon. Their bizarre partnership yielded hilariously off-key recitals that became the talk of New York and earned them cultish fame. The play culminates in a sold out performance at Carnegie Hall in 1944. The recent award winning film adaption stars Meryl Streep as Florence.

The annual DAM Cabaret is on Wednesday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. Performing Arts Camp will run August 8 – August 17, culminating in the showcase performance Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m .; for camp registration information visit fortpecktheatre.org

Look for special tour dates to be announced ASAP for the Theatre for Young Audiences production of The Last of the Dragons, starring FPST company members, including Glasgow native Christen Etchart!

All summer performance times are Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
