Soup, soup, and more soup at Senior Center

The Malta Senior Citizens will host a soup and bread luncheon on Saturday, April 22 at the center with the usual free will offering. This will be in conjunction with a food drive for the Malta Food Bank.

The center is asking attendees to bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank’s basket.

Several types of soup will be offered along with breads and desserts. Soups will include Hawaiian Wedding soup, Wisconsin cheese soup, corn chowder, potato, chicken noodle and more; up to eight flavors to tempt the taste buds.

If you’ve not attended an event since the kitchen remodel, stop by and visit during Saturday and take in the soup luncheon.

Volunteers have been busy cleaning the center’s walls as items have been moved around such as the beginning of a history ‘wall’, new decorations, a coat and hat rack in the main room, and more to come.

Remember, the center is available for a variety of events like parties and anniversaries, bake sales, card games and tournaments, church, and hearing aid assistance. Call Barb Stevens at 654-1392.

Spencer Electric is installing LED lighting in the food bank which will ‘enlighten’ the work areas as well as the entire food bank.
