The Phillips County Community Foundation (PCCF) is pleased to announce recipients in the bi-annual grant cycle and invite all to accept their checks on Tuesday, April 18th at their Annual Meeting starting at 4 p.m. in the Lodge Room of the Great Northern Hotel in Malta.
Anne Boothe, PCCF President, states “we received thirteen excellent applications with total budgets exceeding $103,000 and grant request over $32,000 for a variety of great projects benefitting residents and communities in Phillips County. This certainly proves the value of the Foundation and the need to continue to build this charitable endowment and community savings account.”
Awardees include:
• HiLine Future Foundation - $1500 to assist in their continued efforts to raise funds for a new city swimming pool in Malta.
• Malta Boys & Girls Club - $500 to assist with the purchase of computer tablets that will be used with students involved in the Science Action Club and their first project “Birds in Your Backyard.”
• Phillips County Shooters Club - $1000 to assist with the development and improvements to the new shooting and target range south of Malta.
• Phillips County 4H - $1000 to assist with the reconstruction of the swine corrals to meet growing demands for space and improve safety at the Phillips County Fair Grounds.
• Phillips County Library - $1500 to help launch the Plant a Seed and Imagination Library program which will provide free books to children in Phillips County.
• Rebekah Lodge - $1000 to assist with much-needed upgrades and repairs to the multiple use IOOF Hall in Saco.
• Town of Dodson - $1000 to assist the town and residents with continued community cleanup. Funds will be utilized to improve and beautify US Hwy 2.
Additional funds recently disbursed to managed funds from the Montana Community Foundation, a partner of PCCF include Phillips County Rural Fire Department, Malta Senior Center/Food Bank, Saco Methodist Church, Phillips County Historical Society and the Little White Church.
Everyone is invited to help the Community Foundation celebrate these awards and learn more about continued efforts to build a community savings account for Phillips County. Montana Community Foundation staff including Amy Sullivan and Kacie Tollefson (yes, Malta’s own) will be present to provide an overview of the Phillips County Community Foundation endowment fund and how to contribute. There will also be a special workshop conducted by Amy Sullivan, Director of the Montana Office of Gift Planning the following morning, April 19th starting at 7 a.m. (earlier time than previously stated) with no host breakfast in the GN Lodge Room. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about philanthropy and creating a legacy for our community. Potential donors, other endowment, and charitable groups are encouraged to attend.
