Saco News for April 12, 2017

The Junior and Senior classes left Wednesday for Helena to attend State Legislature. Such an amazing opportunity.

The Saco track team attended the Nashua meet in Glasgow. Chris DePuydt placed 5th in 100m, 2nd in high jump, 5th in long jump and 3rd in 400m. Ty Murphy placed 1st in pole vault, 5th in high jump. Dustin Ostrom had a personal record in the 100m. Chandler Pippin placed 5th in triple jump. Josh Salveson had a personal record in the 200m, and placed 4th in pole vault. Bailey Funk placed 1st in pole vault, 1st in triple jump, 3rd in long jump. Challise Young had a personal record in shot put. Sydney Zeller placed 2nd in high jump, 3rd in the 800m, and 4th in the 400m.

Next up for the tracksters is Whitewater on Thursday. High school will start off in the morning and the junior high (5th thru 8th) will have their first meet of the season in the afternoon.

The Saco Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 15, 2 p.m., at the school playground. All ages welcome. Children up to 5th grade can participate. Sorry parents, no hunting for you.

The Saco Fire Department held a dinner/fundraiser on Saturday at the Saco Odd Fellows Hall. Proceeds go to fund a new building for all the vehicles that are scattered about town. It was a great success.

No other news that I have heard. As of press time, April still has not had her baby, and yes...I am still waiting and watching!
