What is starting to become an annual event awarded whist players with $400 in Chamber Bucks.
The Senior Citizen Whist League 2nd annual card playing came to an end this March.
League chairman, Roger Ereaux reported that with the local sponsors they were able to cover the cost of expenses, donate to the Sr. Citizen Center and payout to participants.
Sponsors generously brought in $700 of which $400 was used to purchase Chamber Bucks for the winnings.
First place of $200 went to Shane Anderson and John Rothie, 2nd place of $120 to Dale Plouffe and Roger Ereaux, and 3rd place of $80 to John Bednarczyk and Jim Humbert.
Minus expenses of $157.85 the Whist League was able to donate $142.15 to the Sr. Citizen Center in Malta.
The league is held at the Sr. Citizen Center and also relied on volunteers to keep games moving.
Claris Darrah, Byran and Nellie Ereaux all helped by keeping score.
Leonard and Margaret Leader generously provided catered lunches with a few dollars incentive.
Roger Ereaux would like to invite anyone who can to participate in the 3rd annual Sr. Citizen Whist League next winter.
