Whist

Jerry Depute finished for first and second place saw a three-way tie between Leonard Leader, Kevin Stevens and Ken Ruzicka. The traveling prize was awarded to Sherman Duecette.

Later in the week, Ron Lundman was high, Jerry was second and the traveling prize was awarded to both Jerry and Shirley Jones.

Malta Duplicate Bridge Club

Wednesday, February 15, saw Byron Ereaux and Bonnie Millar earn first place. Second went to Les Solberg and Lois Goodheart.

Monday winners were Keith Stine and Bob Maxie. Madelyn Anderson and Malcolm Clouse were awarded second place.

Hi-Line Whist

On Tuesday, February 21, the team of Curt and Pearl made quick work of teammates Clara and Gloria, defeating them soundly in both games, 13-1 and 17-9.

"We were just lucky," Pearl declared.

On Friday, February 24, the team of Agnes and Pearl looked like they were heading for a sweep on the day with wins of 13-5 and 13-0 over Curt and Clara, but Curt and Clara found their stride in the final match and earned a 14-6 victory.

"We thought we had it," Pearl said, "and then pow! They got us in the end."
