Ellen V. Korsbeckv

MALTA - Ellen V. Korsbeck, 92, a homemaker, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Hi-Line Retirement Center.

View was Friday, Feb. 10, at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held on, Saturday, February 11, at 11 a.m. at the Little White Church in Malta. Interment was held in the Malta Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Ellen was born July 8, 1924 in Hinsdale, Mont., the daughter of Kalle and Ida (Mikkola) Kangas. She attended school in Hinsdale and South Wagner. She left after the eighth grade to care for her mother and help with the family. She married J.F. "Jack" Korsbeck on April 2, 1944 in Malta. They farmed and ranched in south Wagner area until July 1971 moving to a place 13 miles South of Dodson. Jack died August 28, 1985. Later Ellen moved to Malta where she enjoyed painting and other crafts, was a "crackpot shot" as a child and was a highly competitive bingo player. She loved to have her grandchildren around and always wanting to hold the babies. One of her bucket list items was to visit Hawaii, which she did twice.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue (Dwight) Bomer of McAlester, Okla., Chick (Jim) Brogan of Wilsall, Mont .; grandchildren, Bill (Chelsey) Wombold, Brady (Kelli) Wombold, Kelly Korsbeck, Kristie (Kelly) Rutledge, Jami (Matt) Eads, Beleisha (Jough) Bernhardt; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; siblings, Veino, Viljo, Everett, Walter, Wayne; son John Wayne; grandsons, Jack Brogan, Blaine Wombold; great grandson Keller Eads.
