Long-time Board of Director and former officer, Shirley Legg, was honored for her strong leadership and 30 years of dedicated service to PhillCo Economic Growth Council at the 2016 PhillCo Annual Meeting.
Shirley was an originating founder of the non-profit organization in 1986 when she was first elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Since then, Shirley continued her committed service as a Board of Director until her retirement in 2016.
"On behalf of the PhillCo organization, I want to thank Shirley for her dedication to not only our organization, but also to the economic well-being of Phillips County the past 30 years," said PhillCo Executive Director Ashley Stuart. "Shirley is an amazing lady that has had an immeasurable impact on our Phillips County communities and we have been honored to have her leadership in our organization."
Aside from her longtime service with PhillCo, Shirley was also the City of Malta Mayor from 1982-to-1985 and she served as the first Councilwoman prior to being the mayor. She was also a relator for many years in Phillips County.
