The North Country Mavericks split games last weekend as they defeated Nashua 51-33 in Nashua last Saturday and lost 85-61 to Frazer last Friday night in Frazer.
In the team’s win over Nashua, North Country was led by both Cache Younkin and Trace Simonson, who both scored 17 points apiece. John McColly scored seven, Chris DePuydt scored five and Christian Menge scored four.
North Country outscored Nashua 29-13 in the first half, paving the way for the victory.
In their loss to Frazer, the Mavericks were led by Simonson who scored 19 points. Younkin had 18 points and McColly added nine.
Frazer was led by Jayson Jackson who scored a game-high 25 points. Saunder St. Marks scored 19 and Brayden Jackson scored 18.
The Mavericks are scheduled to travel to Scobey to take on the Spartans this Thursday, February 2. They will then go to Whitewater to face the Dodson Coyotes on Saturday, February 4.
