One Nation, Under God
In my life, last Tuesday was a great day in many ways for me but it was also one of the most traumatic days I’ve had in a while.
I had been highly anticipating the day because I would make my weekly trip to Havre. This particular time I had been waiting to make the trip to pick up a blend-er that I had ordered online.
This blender was not only affordable but it possesses a motor and blade combination that completely liquefies fruit and vegetables. I had tried juicers before but they always left a mess behind, so I eventually lost interest.
So I collected my Nutri Ninja Pro and I have to say it is better than advertised. The first drink I made had broccoli, frozen spinach and fruit. It may not sound that tasty but I know I have to up my veggie intake this year and hopefully for the rest of my life.
As you may recall, it snowed pretty hard a day prior and then snowed again on Tuesday afternoon. So, I’m on the highway driving back while also trying to make it in time to get the papers out that same day (which is a luxury, not a priority). I learned the hard way that the highways can be tough during the winter time.
I was attempting to pass a pickup, when all of a sudden the snowy wake from a semi truck ahead of me shifted with the wind and the visibility went from a half mile to not event a car length.
In transition, I almost met a head-on collision. That was bad and it was close but being stuck in the wake of that semi afterwards was no picnic. Eventually the wind shifted and I was able to see a couple of miles down the road before I got in front of the semi and was able to safely pass.
Later that day, my poor son had a reaction to a children’s medicine that had both my wife and I on the brink of freaking out. Eventually he fell asleep and after the medicine passed through his system, all things were well. It was definitely scary dealing with that reaction.
