Acoustical Duo's Friday concert to benefit GPDM
The Bad Larrys, a talented acoustical duo from the Flathead Valley are coming to Malta and the Tin Cup Bar & Grill on Saturday, January 21st. The Bad Larry’s featuring Jay Aiken on acoustic guitar and Chris Arndt on upright bass play a mix of genuine Americana music and their signature sound features tight vocal harmonies with amusing and often off-beat story telling. Their repertoire includes everything from Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Junior Brown, Southern Culture Skids, Simon & Garfunkel, Lyle Lovett, Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Corb Lund, Greg Brown and even some countrified Aerosmith, Queen and Beyonce.
They have played at state and county fairs across the northwest, including a free act sponsored at the Phillips County Fair. The last several winter season have largely been spent at the Big Sky Ski Resort as the house band at Chet's Bar in the Huntley Lodge.
Band member Chris Arndt has local roots to the Cowan family and is a huge fan of Phillips County dinosaurs. His aunt, Dixie Stordahl, is a long term board member for the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum and arranged for the Bad Larry's to be in Malta to benefit the local nonprofit museum.
Advance tickets for the $10 per person cover charge are available at local banks, the Tin Cup, GPDM board members and at the door on the 21st. Music starts at 7 p.m. but everyone is encouraged to come early for food and drink. Special bar servers for the evening include Vince Schmoeckel, Dave Boothe, Tony Kindle, Lecil Demarais and Dan Lundstrom with all tips benefiting the museum. GPDM will be also selling $10 squares on a raffle board with a first prize of 1/4 cut and processed 4H beef and a second price of $100 in Malta Chamber Dino Dollars.
The Tin Cup will be offering a Lasagna and Garlic Bread Special in addition to their regular bar menu.
Everyone is invited to join in celebrating good friends and neighbors during this winter season and enjoy the talented entertainment of the Bad Larry's.
