One Nation, Under God

First ever Malta/Glasgow Polar Plunge to be on Jan. 21

On Saturday, January 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. the first ever Malta/Glasgow Polar Plunge will take place at Nelson Reservoir. Join us for FUN and a chance to raise funds to benefit our local Special Olympics Athletes, many of whom will be participating in the plunge. Come out and get Freezin' for Reason for the athletes of Special Olympics Montana. Also get the chance to prove your town is truly the toughest as you will be representing either Malta or Glasgow during this rivalry plunge. The communities know and respect each other, but during this plunge one town will come out on top!

• This event is open to anyone that wishes to take the plunge and support our local Special Olympics Athletes. Too chicken to plunge? NO PROBLEM…you can still be a part of the fun. Simply register as a chicken and raise pledges and receive incen-tives just like a regular plunger.

• To register or for more information go to; http://www.somt.org/plunge

• Collect tax deductible pledges from friends and family. There is a $125 minimum per plunger (*$50 for Youth 17 & under). Checks should be made out to Special Olympics Montana.

• Registration check-in starts at 1:00 pm at Nelson Reservoir and the plunge kicks off at 2:00 pm!

We are also grateful for the support of the Montana Police Protective Association and Town Pump Food Stores who are year-round Premier and Mission Sponsors for the Law Enforce-ment Torch Run (LETR). The LETR is the world’s largest grass roots fundraiser for Special Olympics and their global efforts raise over $43 million annually.

More than 2,000 athletes from 65 Montana communities participate in local, area and state sports competitions that train athletes for life and build communities of acceptance, respect and inclusion. As a volunteer-driven movement, nearly 4,000 Montanans help organize and host local, area and state level competitions and other program services. As a year-round pro-gram, there is no off season.

As a 501 (c)3 charitable nonprofit organization, Special Olympics Montana is funded primarily through the generosity of individuals, organizations and businesses across the state. Public support is the cornerstone of our existence. Please join us for this FUN event and help pro-vide opportunities for our local champions! For more information call Mandy Patriarche at (406) 589-6005 or go to http://www.somt.org/plunge.
