The Malta American Legion Auxiliary is accepting Girls State applications. Applications are available on-line @ mtlegion.org. Please follow instructions. Girls State session will run Sunday June 11 to Saturday June 17, 2017 at Carroll College in Helena. Applicants must have completed or will complete junior year in high school this year. Applications must be submitted to Malta American Legion Auxiliary by 5pm April 6, 2017 at PO Box 957, Malta, Mt. 59538 or in person at the Malta VFW Club. One delegate from Phillips County will be selected. Call Carolyn at 654-2777 if you have any questions.

Parks and Rec Basketball Forms/Needs Coaches

ASAP. The Malta Parks and Recreation would like the youth basketball forms turned in ASAP.

Youth Basketball starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 14 at City Hall and Old Gym for grades 1 through 6. Parks and Rec are also in search of volunteers for coaches. For more information contact Juila Tatafu 654-4178 or Natalie Judd (520)686-0986.

Free Google Basics Class

1-12. A class on understanding Google Basics on January 12 at 6 p.m. at the Malta High School Computer lab. This class is offered free to the public through the Connected Community Grant from Triangle Communications. Please RSVP to either Ashley at PhillCo at 654-5525 or Dina at the Chamber at 654-1776 for this Google Basics Class.

Library Closed

1-14 through 1-16. The Phillips County Library will be CLOSED on Saturday, January 14, 2017 through Monday, January 16 for the Dr. Martin Luther King Holiday.

Kiwanis Meeting

1-17. Malta Kiwanis will meet on Tuesday, January 17 at 6 p.m. Westside Cafe. We need to plan for Friday, January 20 when we will be selling soup dinner at the MHS basketball game. Support Kiwanis. We support our local kids’ activities.

Malta City Offices Closed

1-16. The Malta City Office, Shop and Landfill will close on Monday, January 16, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Garbage pick-up will be delayed.

MRGJ Annual Meeting

1-17. The Annual Business Meeting and election of officers for the Milk River Gospel Jamboree (MRGJ) will be held on Tuesday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Malta Community Church. All meetings are open to the public and public participation is welcome.

Mustang Foundation Annual Meeting

1-17. The Mustang Foundation annual meeting will be Tuesday, January 17, in the GN Lodge at 5:30 p.m.

CHS Big Sky Annual Meeting

1-17. CHS Big Sky will hold its Annual Meeting Tuesday, January 17, in Fort Benton, Mont. at the Ag Museum starting at 10 a.m.

Library Story Time Canceled

1-18. Storytime at the Phillips County Library on Wednesday, January 18, is canceled. Storytime will resume on January 25 as usual.

National Range Allotment Owners Association meeting

1-18. Dr. Angus McIntosh, Executive Director of National Range Allotment Owners Association will give a two hour seminar at the Valley County Conservation District Winter Grazing Seminar in Glasgow, Montana, Wednesday January 18, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Cottonwood Inn. Maxine Korman at 648-5536.

Senior Citizen Meeting

1-19. The Malta Senior Citizens Center, Inc. is holding their Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, January 19, in the Malta Senior Center at 12:30 p.m.

Senior Biscuit and Gravy Lunch change of time

1-21. The Biscuits and Gravy Brunch at the Malta Senior Center has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free will offering. Everyone is welcome!

PhillCo Economic Growth Council Annual Meeting

1-24. The PhillCo Economic Growth Council Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, January 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tin Cup. Everyone is welcome to attend.
