One Nation, Under God
The American Red Cross blood drive was held Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Malta Lutheran Church with a very successful show of blood donors even with the holiday season upon us.
There were 55 presenters for possible donations with three deferred resulting with a of number of 52 successful donors. The Malta area once again met their goal with the most precious gift of all: blood.
Pins earned for donating went to Julisa Simanton and James Layton for 2 gallons; Warren Kapp for five gallons; Glenda Knudsen for six gallons; Deanna Hanson, Lulu Besel and Janice Kirkwood for eight gallons. Tom Golick has donated 144 gallons, unfortunately Red Cross does not make pins numbering that high.
There were two first time donors.
Remember: give the gift of life which is blood as it is needed 365 days a year. The American Red Cross calls to let donors know where their blood was sent for use.
The next blood drive is Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Malta Lutheran Church beginning at 11:30 a.m.
