Aladdin auditions in Malta on Jan. 9

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of Alladdin Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Malta High School Auditorium from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive at 3:20 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are Aladdin and his Mother, the Princess Dory and her father the Sultan along with his adviser the Grand Vizier. The keeper of the Book of Answers Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade. The Mysterious One and some mischievous Genies. A stubborn Donkey and spunky Goat, scheming Cassim and Ali Baba, Sinbad and his Sailors, wise-cracking Palm Trees and fleet footed Camels, A Cave of Wonders, Vagabonds, and even a pack of lost Penguins. Enrolled Malta Public School students, grades Kindergarten through 8th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week, and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm each day.

Aladdin will be presented on Friday 5:30 pm, January 13th and Saturday 11:00 am, January 14th at the Malta High School Auditorium. The Missoula Children's Theatre residency is brought to you by Malta Elementary School with support from local businesses.

Meet the Directors

Kaylee Onorati

Kay is delighted to be touring with the Missoula Children's Theatre! She is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in theatre education. Not only does she have a passion for theatre, but also trains alpacas/llamas, plays multiple instruments, and makes a mean latte. Some of her favorite theatre credits include Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice, Toodles the lost boy in Peter Pan, and being a part of the MOTley tour at WWU. She would like to thank her family and friends for their encouragement and support in everything that she does.

James DeVoursney

James is delighted to be touring with the Missoula Children's Theatre! He was raised in Bayonne, NJ and graduated from Saint Michael's College with degrees in theatre and psychology. His favorite show credits include Augustus Gloop/Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka; Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz; and "Warren" in Ordinary Days. He would like to thank all of his family, friends and teachers for their love and support.
