Mavs survive long district tourney

The North Country Mavericks played in every game in the 2016 District 3C Volleyball Tournament in Saco last Friday, October 28. The team lost the District Championship to Scobey 3-0 that night. Both Scobey and North Country advanced to the Eastern C Divisional in Sidney on Thursday, November 3.

"We played every single game in this tournament," junior middle hitter Mickayla Johnson said. "We did not sit out a single game. Every single game was against us. It was everyone versus North Country. That was this tournament."

In North Country's Championship loss to the Lady Spartans, North Country was led by Johnson who had three kills and two aces. Bailey Funk had seven digs and Casity Boucher had three assists.

The Mavericks rested their starters in the third set of the
