One Nation, Under God

P.C. Museum news for week of October 26, 2016

Happy Halloween Everyone! A ghost from the past walked through the PC Museum doors this week. Actually not a ghost but a very interesting man.

His family had homesteaded south of Bowdoin in the early 1900’s. His name was Robert Morris. Robert had a few interesting tales to tell of his life choices and the places those choices took him. One of his stories made me stop and think that each one of us are a part of the building of Phillips County. Everyone has unique characteristics or jobs that when put together make this the great county it is!

Robert was instrumental in the building of the Malta Grade School and the old Malta High School Gymnasium! No, he wasn’t the architect or the owner of the construction company yet they could not have done their job without him. Robert’s important job was to haul the bricks that were used in these structures. He traveled by truck to Lewiston, Idaho, stopped in Great Falls for rebar and returned with these crucial items. Hats off to all the people of Phillips County regardless of your job or occupation you each are building our county!

Museum hours are Monday through Saturday 10-5. Remember – the museum is looking for entries for their Christmas Festival. Do you have an item you might donate to this important fund raiser for the museum?
