One Nation, Under God
When I was a kid, I wasn’t into scary movies. I thought it was pointless and dumb to be tormented by images on the television screen that often times ruled over your dreams as well. Then came high school.
I don’t know if it was because I grew bolder or because my friends were talking so much about them but I decided to watch a scary movie called Thirteen Ghosts. For some reason, that movie almost made me excuse myself to the men’s room, but I kept watching.
Then I had a brief hiatus with scary movies once again. Since then I have seen a few of the Hannibal Lecter movies and I’m not a fan of these super scary flicks.
To this day I still see many scary movies and shows meaningless. But I have to admit that I have a weakness. That weakness is for The Walking Dead on AMC.
In my home town there is a pretty good DVD resale shop that I would frequent nearly every day after I was done working out at a nearby gym. At this place they have everything in DVD or Blu-ray format, including movies, TV shows and even concerts.
One day I went into the store to find season one of The Walking Dead, on DVD. And I thought for $4, I might give it a chance. Expecting to not be into to it, I pressed play only to get sucked right in as the show brought me to think whether or not I could survive in that type of atmosphere.
Six seasons later, it is still one of my favorite shows to this day. There are some pretty gruesome scenes, so I wouldn’t dare watch it in front of PJ. But as far as action and drama goes, the show is pretty good. I find myself asking, will they find a cure? How will it end? I honestly hope it comes to a conclusion soon but until it does, I might have to keep watching.
Season seven of The Walking Dead comes on Sunday night and I’m pretty geeked about it. Especially because this is the first season I can watch it live and it won’t be ruined by those on social media that can’t keep their thoughts and spoilers to themselves.
