Lewis Calvin Skinner

Lewis Skinner went to his eternal home on August 22, 2016 at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre, Mont., at the age of 89.

Lewis Calvin Skinner was born May 13, 1927 in Malta, the son of Dwight D. and Mary (Arvett) Skinner. He was raised on the family ranch at Wagner.

Lewis left High School early to join the Navy during WWII. After his discharge he returned to Malta and graduated from Malta High School.

He worked the family ranch and also did construction work in building the Glasgow Air Force Base.

He bought the family ranch and continued ranching and raising horses. He sold the ranch to his brother and remained at the home place raising horses. He had a great love of horses and could always tell the good ones.

He has been especially close to his Heavenly Father and was a member of the Malta Assembly of God Church and Gideon International.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Wilbur, and Lloyd; and sister, Betty Bowman.

He is survived by a sister, Donna Kirkaldie of Miles City, step-sisters; Betty Flom, Pearl Skinner, and June Eklund all of Malta; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors were held on August 26, 2016 and interment has taken place at the Malta Cemetery.
