One Nation, Under God
Sympathy to all hurricane victims in Haiti and the USA.
We are having “monsoon season” weather here in Whitewater and Phillips County. We had over two inches of rain in 24 hours! We had four inches in the last month. Now it turned to snow (I hate it.)
There were flu shots given in Whitewater School on October 3 by the P.C. Nurse (I don’t do shots; don’t like needles.)
There was a volleyball game with Malta and Whitewater on Friday. Pierre (PCN sports editor) took pictures.
Mark (PCN publisher) gave me paper and envelopes. I guess he wants me to continue to write Whitewater News! Call me at 674-5576 if you have news to report. I send the Whitewater News to Mark on Wednesdays.
The Hoosta-Fest in Minot, N.D., was attended by the following residents; Ree Simonson, Sally Austin, Margie Olson, Joyce Donovan, the Hammonds and Patty Young (sorry if I missed any names.)
The Saco Band (including Challise Young my granddaughter) plan to go to Bozeman, Mont., to be in a “marching band.” Way to go!
FYI: here are some notes; if you plan to go to Canada (I am ):
1. Don’t forget your passport to cross the border.
2. Be aware that there are no passenger trains in Canada (at least until you get way up north.)
3. Taxis and busses will not go to the border.
It is really difficult to travel to Canada, but I am going. I will write more about my Canada trip next week.
Election Day is really near. I plan to vote by “absentee” ballot so I will send it in.
Don’t forget to VOTE!
We have so much rain that there are puddles in the streets! Good weather for ducks! At least the snow is melting fast. That is good.
Have a good week.
Helen.
