FSA payments issued and removing hay bales from CRP

The 2015 Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) & Price Loss Coverage (PLC) payments have been issued in the last week. PLC program payments are issued when the effective price of a covered commodity is less than the respective reference price for that commodity.

The effective price equals the higher of the market year average price (MYA) or the national average loan rate for the covered commodity. The PLC payment amount for a covered commodity is equal to 85 percent times the base attributable to the covered commodity, times the payment rate for the covered commodity. If you have questions concerning payment rates or you would like a payment report for your farms please contact the office. Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) payments have started, the first round of payments have been sent out to producers for older contracts (2008-2009 program years).

Next round for CRP payments (2010-2016 program years) will be issued after October 14, 2016. If you have multiple year contracts you may be receiving your payments at two different times. With all of the recent moisture the Montana State Office has approved an extension, January 9, 2017 is the last day to remove bales from land enrolled in the CRP program. The original dead-line to have CRP bales removed was November 12, 2016.
