One Nation, Under God

P.C. Museum news for week of October 3, 2016

Fall is upon us. I love the beautiful red and yellow fall leaves. In our community fall always brings the Big Flat Annual Meeting. Congratulations to the Big Flat for all it does in our community. The PC Museum hosts a display that was created by the Big Flat several years ago to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of power being delivered to the rural areas of Phillips County. Hats off to those individuals that petitioned their neighbors and received the signatures needed to bring that power to the outlying communities. When the power goes off for short periods of time realization of just what we can and can’t do settles in real fast. Stop in soon and take a look at the Big Flat Exhibit.

The cold rain reminds us that winter is coming and also gives one an excuse to stay inside and start our list of fun indoor projects. The PC Historical Society has set December 1 as the date for the Festival of Trees. The Museum is looking forward to entries for the festival. Trees can be picked up at the museum Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. . The theme for this year’s festival is “ A Christmas Wish.”
