On Tuesday, September 27, Lou Olson took first place with 54 points while Malcolm Clause and Leonard Leader each notched 49 in a tie for second. Leonard was also awarded the traveling prize.
Pinochle
Barb Steven tallied 6,080 for first place and Roger Ereaux’s 5,690 was good for second. The traveling prize was awarded to both Shirley Jones and Sharon Emond.
Hi-Line Whist
On Tuesday, September 27, Pearl and Curt fell to Gloria and Clara in a narrow 13-12 escapade before rallying in the second game to dominate in a 13-1 victory.
"We went down in a blaze of glory," Pearl said. "Then we came back and won!"
On Thursday, September 29, Clara and Agnes won the first round 14-13 before Pearl and Mary took the second game 13-12.
"Grand slam," Pearl said. "They did beat us, no thanks to me. I messed up."
