One Nation, Under God
I started writing this column because my mom said, "People who have moved away still get the newspaper and they want to know if anything is happening at Loring. But no one writes up anything so why don't you do it, Dixie?" So here I am many years later even after she has gone, still writing up a few things that I know to be happening in Loring. Dixie Stordahl hosted bible study on Wednesday. Carol Lumsden and Whitney Blunt and I studied about Jonah and how he survived the whale's digestive juices. The Loring Woman's Club will meet at Paula Morrison's home on Wednesday Sept 21. Our Fall Dance is October 1. We all have race tickets for our hot tub and cooler if any of my readers would like one they are $5 each or 3 /$10! Trace Simonson plays football for the Mustangs and they had homecoming this last week. Congrats on a big Win! The cement was poured this week in the new basement of the Loring Lutheran Church. It won't be long now! A short-eared grey owl visited us for a few days. When I saw it in our cottonwood tree, I must admit it looked very majestic. Then I realized that is where the feathers came from on our driveway. I'm certain that the owl made a meal of one of our other birds. Tom thinks it was a mourning dove. The autumnal equinox is right around the corner! September 22. Dixie Stordahl attended the Grand Visitation of OES in Hinsdale on Thursday evening. Have a great week, keep your eyes open, brains thinking, and hearts pumping!
