One Nation, Under God
Dear Editor,
I didn’t want to believe it was true when I first heard that Hi-Line Retirement Center would no longer be a nursing home, but rather just an Assisted Living facility. I want to know what happened to our nursing home?
After reading some of the news articles recently published about the Nursing Home, I understand it to be more financial issues, but I ask how is this possible? Don’t you think at the very first sign of any negative financial problems, that it should have raised some red flags immediately. Now here I see you are closing the nursing home, because you can’t afford to keep it open, even after the community gave you nearly half a million dollars.
How long has money been an issue. The facility was recently remodeled, if money was an issue at that time then the remodel never should have been done. There should have been better ways to prevent closure of this communities Nursing Home. It sickens me that it has been resorted to this, because it never should have gotten to this point. Now you’re faced with having to lay off staff, and tell residents, and their families they may have to find a new place to live if they don’t qualify for the assisted living.
In conclusion I would like to say I don’t feel this ever should have happened, however it is, and with that I wish everyone staff, residents, and families the best of luck for whatever the future holds for you.
Sincerely,
Riley Abrahamson
